American-Palestinian Teenager Released After Nine Months in Israeli Detention

A Palestinian-American adolescent after completing nine months in Israeli detention absent formal charges was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention last February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting on holiday from Florida accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization right after being freed, according to close relatives.

"Currently, our priority is getting Mohammed prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to harsh conditions and brutal treatment over several months."

The state department said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities considers paramount to ensuring the safety for United States citizens"," officials stated.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers submitted a formal letter to US authorities and President Donald Trump, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mohammed's parent, parent of four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, and only heard regarding the treatment through judicial records.

The teenager remained without charge at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.

Additionally housing mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities including killings.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees detained within Israeli facilities, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
